Founded in 2008, Zaragoza Acres LLC is a thriving and highly respected performance equine training facility in Virginia owned by Hannah and Antonio Salazar. Their focus is to develop young, talented, carefully selected prospects and help riders achieve their fullest potential as adult amateurs up to developing professionals. Horses have been a major part of Hannah’s life since childhood and thankfully Antonio also shares the same passion personally and professionally as a farrier. They have devoted their lives to the success of Zaragoza Acres as well as to their two young children Christian and Gabriel.
After many years of hard work, determination, and success, the Salazar’s made their life-long dream a reality in 2016 by purchasing a 100-acre farm in Jeffersonton, Virginia – a groundbreaking accomplishment to ensure the next phases of Zaragoza Acres’ journey. The farm offers an ideal environment including open, picturesque views and rolling hills which help maximize a horse’s natural abilities during their training and development. The property currently has a 10-stall European-styled barn, dressage arena, gallop field, cross-country course and plenty of open space for relaxing hacks.
Additionally, they plan to renovate the historic home on the property to provide a gathering space for educational programs and lectures for the continued growth of their sport. They also plan to add another 10-stall barn on the farm, continue to progress the cross-country course by including a water complex, bank complex, and additional elements for the levels of beginner novice through advanced.
Along with their growing team of professionals at the farm, there is a shared vision to develop Zaragoza Acres into a well-rounded, comprehensive facility. They aspire to continue developing their high performance training facility while focused on the safe, correct development and progression of sport horses as well as hosting an educational facility for aspiring equestrians. The overall goal is to provide a place for horses to thrive and succeed, and for anyone looking to expand their knowledge of horsemanship in training, competing and breeding.
Great achievements and wonderful opportunities have shined upon Zaragoza Acres. Now, with the purchase of their farm, the addition of eventing and show jumping trainer Chris Talley to the team, and their amazingly supportive clients and sponsorships provided by Walsh, Custom Saddlery, Stone Pony Browbands, Eponia Equestrian Sport, and Southern States of Front Royal, the crucial foundational elements are in place for the continued success of Zaragoza Acres. The whole team at Zaragoza Acres is excited for the bright future that lay ahead. Please explore our site to learn more about our program and everything we have to offer.
